GPS Attendance Without Making Your Team Feel Surveilled

Jul 2026 · Arlabs Team

Two very different implementations

GPS attendance can mean "we know where you are every minute," or it can mean "we check you're on-site at clock-in and clock-out." The second is what most operations actually need, and it's far less invasive.

Geofencing plus a moment, not a trail

A geofence around the site, checked at the moment of clock-in and clock-out, verifies presence without logging continuous location. Add a liveness selfie to stop buddy-punching, and fake-GPS detection to catch spoofing — and you've solved the actual problem: knowing who is genuinely on site.

The trust payoff

Teams accept verification they understand. Being upfront about what's checked (arrival and departure, not a live trail) and why (accurate attendance and payroll) turns a potentially uncomfortable rollout into a non-event.
